WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THE WORLD?
This KidPresident got me to thinking. I have been teaching for 7 years now and it always brings me joy to share a piece of me to the kids i teach.
I AM A PRESCHOOL TEACHER and i am proud of it.
there was a time last year that i question my vocation... do i want to pursue teaching as a career, the job that i will do for the rest of my life, well if you know me I am a big ball of mixed whatever. I enjoy fashion, styling, volunteer work, outreaches, graphic designing, advertising and anything creative and i discover these talents and passion along the way as years gone by. Gearing towards the creative side, I ask myself, is teaching what i really want? I had an introspective war of what i want to do. Then it hit ME!.
all of these i can do as a teacher! as a preschool teacher!
creativity is a must at preschool. any other talents you have must come out being a preschool teacher Singing, Dancing, Acting, being playful, adaptable and just simply having fun! teaching will always be part of me and i realize that THIS IS WHAT I AM GOING TO TO FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
WHAT AM I TEACHING MY PRESCHOOL KIDS?
to enjoy life! enjoy each moment. be creative, be disciplined, say sorry if they hurt someone, say please if they want something. follow their mommies and daddies and their teacher. how to laugh with their fellow students, be silly, dream big! imagine outrageous things,to pee in the toilet and that all that is too much is not good!
these are the things that I learned in preschool, and what I want my students to appreciate and live out!

Building houses... Building hope
It was a foggy morning when we got up early to prepare for our one day build for
Habitat for humanity Indonesia. I have been to a lot of community outreaches
but this is very different from all of them. We visited Mauk, Tangerang in
Indonesia and saw the community we are about to change.
The day started with greetings and orientations and stuff.
We got to meet other volunteers from different walks of life, teachers,
students, architects, office workers among others. The task that was assigned
to us was to build the foundation of the house. We did what our Foreman asked
of us and everyone was active and participative in whatever duty that was
thrown at us. We were like machines, as we went off and divided ourselves on
the different task. Some dug pits, some mixed cement, some welded iron rods and
some carried and laid rocks.
We were also invited to perform a puppet show for the kids
in the community.
The day was tiring yet fulfilling. I learned to appreciate
the little things. My energy and strength was put to good use, something
worthwhile.
CHANGE – a very powerful word. Who would have thought that
with my hands I can make some family’s life live more comfortably. Made a
difference and eventually change their life.

Me, an ACTOR?
My first stint in Jakarta my second abroad, Being the newest
addition to the ISMILE family, it was kind of an initiation to be part of the
Year-end Concert, Lion King. I played the role of Rafiki.
It was such an amazing experience, ACTING, never thought of
myself as an actor but being a TEACHER, encompasses everything, we do not just
teach, we become, entertainers, artists, actors, dancers, singers, 2nd
parent, counselor and a friend.
And I enjoy every minute of it

Teach, Love, laugh, dance, sing! ...
It was my first ever job away from the Philippines and there were a lot of
changes. Lifestyle and work wise adjustments were expected.
I am proud of my short stint in Singapore. Living alone made
me know more about independence and courage. I also re - discovered my love for teaching children.
Handling the Busy Buddies (a drop-off class) made me realize my career,
teaching.
I LOVE TEACHING.
Lets talk about Leadership!
Being an SCB (Student Coordinating Board) Moderator for 2
years has its highs and lows. I have learned a lot about myself, my strengths
and weaknesses and most specially working with young, passionate and creative
students.
Disagreements and debates are inevitable but letting these
kids decide and guide them in producing worthwhile activities for their fellow
students gives me joy.
I have harnessed my skill in creating team building
activities, awareness campaigns and events planning. This experience taught me
a lot and helped me know more about myself.
Leadership entails hardwork, dedication and commitment.
teaching other about being a responsible leader is a different story!

Peer Counselors
There is so much that we can give, simple things, little things.
as Morgan Freeman said in the movie Evan Almighty, "build an A.R.K. make an A.R.K.
Acts of Random Kindness"
